WHY O'NEILL?

Because the O'Neills hold to an old-fashioned belief.

If you respect the client's knowledge, really listen to what she or he needs, do good, fresh creative, go the extra mile to get the job done right and on time and keep expenditures real, everyone wins.

Because we relate.

We are a family-owned business and have been for three generations, going back to the 1960s when Pat O'Neill Sr. publicized shows and orchestrated media events for people like Elvis Presley and Jerry Lewis. We work well together and enjoy the camaraderie of a wonderful staff and clients who are, truly, a lot like family.

Because we produce.

Whether you're needing a one-off marketing project or a full-time, easy-to-use marketing and/or event partner, O'Neill has the experience, expertise and resources to deliver.

Because O'Neill has the experience and vision to
plan it, build it and promote it.

Give us a call and let’s talk about your special event or marketing needs and ideas today.

Regards!

STAFF

They say that in order to be successful, you must hire the best people. “People” is the key word. O'Neill's people aren't just talented and intelligent; they're nice, funny, hard-working and family-oriented. That makes them easy and pleasant to work with.

Because life's too darned short to have to work with sourpusses and paperclip counters!

HISTORY

"To us Irish, memory is a canvas—stretched, primed, and ready for painting on. We love the 'story' part of the word 'history,' and we love it trimmed out with color and drama, ribbons and bows...we always decorate our essence."

Frank Delaney

From a City Market shoe store, to boss politics, madmen advertising and every sort of event - grand openings to concerts by The King - the O'Neills have been part of Kansas City's civic and business fabric for more than 100 years.

GENERATION ONE

GENERATION TWO
GENERATION THREE

Pat O’Neill Sr. got into the ad game in the 1950s, doing publicity and promotions for Starlight Theater, the Auto Show, the Boat Show, hockey, boxing and basketball, and managing local gubernatorial, mayoral and capital improvement campaigns.

Pat O’Neill Jr. jumped into the business in 1984 after working as a country newspaper editor and proprietor of a boomtown bar in the mountains of Colorado. He earned his stripes, reputation, gray hair and wrinkles as a consultant, publicist and media spokesperson for entertainment venues, casinos, church organizations, hotels and civic issues in Kansas City and throughout the region.

After graduating from Marquette University, where she ran track, majored in public relations and dutifully researched the link between beer manufacturers and outdoor festivals, Keli O'Neill (now Wenzel) ignored the good advice of her father and grandfather and took up the family business.

How were the old boys to know that a young woman like her could completely organize the business, make it smarter, more diverse, more productive and even...profitable?

With her talent for creating and managing events and driving effective marketing campaigns, Keli has built a proud portfolio of national, regional and local accounts.

CLIENTS

"Our message of unconditional, non-judgmental giving has gone global, thanks to the communications and marketing elves at O'Neill Marketing & Event Management. They've attracted and orchestrated media coverage from Russia to Japan, to South Korea, North Africa and Portugal. They even talked Larry the Cable Guy into wearing an Elf hat and help us spreading good cheer throughout Kansas City at Christmastime. I'd tell you more good things about the O'Neill's...but it's a secret!"

Secret Santa

"The Kansas City Irish Fest is perhaps the area’s best organized and most tirelessly promoted festival."

Kansas City Star

"From the formal gala to the parting of the giant eyes-of-a-soldier curtain, the opening of the National World War I Museum was a carefully aimed shot heard around the country and the world. O’Neill was behind it all."

Steve Berkheiser, Brigadier General, US Marine Corp (Ret.) and
former Executive Director, National WWI Museum

"Having been involved in civic events for more than 50 years, I have been privileged to work with many good firms that direct political campaigns and/or events. O’Neill tops the list for being the best in these areas. The entire staff is dedicated to the betterment of Kansas City, as our town has been their families’ home for generations."

Anita B. Gorman, Civic Leader

"Building three magnificent new federal courthouses in our region over the space of two years was historic, but a major challenge with many moving parts. For the grand openings, the O’Neill staff orchestrated perfect set-up, visuals and communications for local and regional media. Each event went off without a hitch and gained the participation and attention the we desired."

Glenn W. “Woody” Overton, for Regional Director of Region 6 GSA

"All feedback we have gotten has been overwhelmingly positive. Many people have enclosed a copy of the ads with their gifts and have commented about the cleverness of the ads. We’re still counting!"

Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Center

"O'Neills...Thank you for your organization and involvement last night. The party was a great success! I appreciate all the work that went into to developing that guest list, coordinating the evening and 'working the crowd' - not to mention the great media coverage!"

Andy Feldmann, Corporate Manager Fogo de Chao

O'Neill has been privileged to work with these companies and organizations on a variety of sustained and quick-hit projects involving branding, marketing, event creation and management, media relations and more. Below is a just a sampling of some of our current and past clients.
